30 Jun Sessions: Mashable Social Media Day Breakfast (#SMDay 2015)
Mashable first declared June 30th Social Media Day back in 2010. Since then, organizers in cities across the globe have planned events in their local communities to discuss, debate, and learn about these tools. This year, I decided to get in on the fun. I intentionally had my worlds collide, and went to General Assembly’s Boston team with an idea that allen & gerritsen could sponsor.
Together, we picked an all-star panel of local experts, and I got busy designing the programming. I also did something I never thought I’d find myself doing: writing a proclamation on behalf of the City of Boston. And, thanks to help from City Hall, Mayor Walsh signed it, making Social Media Day official in the city.
Here are the highlights from our event, in case you missed it (or were waitlisted!). Unfortunately, no Union Square Donuts were left over, but the tweets are just as good.
Special thanks to our panelists – Jay Acunzo (NextView Ventures), Erica Ayotte (Hootsuite), Kara Hendrick (Velcro), and Josh Danoff (Union Square Donuts).
